Suits Me and Northside Prince to collide in the Paddock Package Handicap at Pontefract on 10th April
The Class 2 Paddock Package Handicap is to be raced over a mile, two furlongs and 6 yards at Pontefract on Tuesday, 10th April. Ten contestants who are four-year and older, are up for the challenge that is worth £11, 828.
Among the entire lineup there are only two entries who have raced at Pontefract, Suits Me and Northside Prince, that also during the previous season. Neither could strike a victory and scored second during the last time that they race at Pontefract.
Suits Me, Bertolini’s nine-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare Fancier Bit, is still unsuccessful through the two starts that he was a part of this season.
On 22nd September, 2011 he was second against the 3/1 favourite of the Simon Scrope Dalby s***w-Driver Handicap, Art History, who was riding with Silvestre De Sousa at Pontefract over a mile and two furlongs.
Suits Me finished the race respectably with a slight head’s difference from the winner. Third after the winner was Fattsota.
He won at Pontefract in the Totesport 0800 221 221 Handicap on 19th June over a mile and two furlongs. Riding with Micky Fenton, Suits Me took keen hold of the final length of the track and had Our Joe Mac finishing the race right after.
Reserving the third position behind the winner was Diescentric.
Both his attempts at Pontefract did not come easy, a second position with a head’s difference and a victory that was threatened by a length’s margin.
The other note worthy entry is Northside Prince, Desert Prince’s six-year-old bay gelding out of mare Spartan Girl, is in for the seasonal debut today and has a second score at Pontefract under belt during the previous season.
On 14th August 2011, Northside Prince was second in the Family Funday Handicap over a mile and four furlongs which were dominated by the 2/1 favourite of the race, Rain Mac.
Riding with J McDonald, Northside Prince, qualified as the runner up.
The last time that he won at Pontefract was in 2010.
They are bound to give each other a hard time but they will also have to look out for the rest of the lineup as quite a few are racing their seasonal debut and would want to stamp it.
