My juvenile tortoise makes a funny sound when he has diarrhea. It's like a squirting f**t noise. His diarrhea is white-ish-black-ish-green-ish and he does it alot. Is he sick, or does he need a wider diet? Maybe he's nervous?

  1. he probabably sick its supposed to be solid or at least thats what ive seen though you should take him to a vet cause that means theres something wrong with his digestonal track and thats bad take ghim to a vet!!!!!!

  2. The first answer is your best i would like to add though that you can grow your own grasses also, bermuda is a good one and sprouts very fast..dry grasses are also good just make sure that they are either groung up into smaller pieces or cut up....sometimes the dried grass can poke them in the eyes and can cause eye problems....other than the diet definately get him checked for internal parasites...vets usually charge around 30 to 40 dollars to do an exam on a reptile....but make sure you see an exotic vet...call around and see who treats reptiles.

  3. What are you feeding him? Too much fruit gives diarrhea. He needs more fiber. My Sulcatas live outside and eat alot of grass, which gives them very firm stools. My Russians live inside and I give them Timothy haty like you would feed a rabbit. This gives them firm stools as well. The rest of their diets is primarily greens, which other veggies on occasion such as squash or carrots. Fruit, like apples and canteloupe, is just a treat they only get on occasion. Try tadding fiber to the diet and see if that helps. If not, I'd find a vet to do a fecal exam for internal parasites, which are very comomon in tortoises.
