The Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has confirmed that a Bundesliga and Turkish Super Lig club has expressed interest in luring the Serbian ace away from Amsterdam Arena in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Reports in Dutch media suggested that Ajax Amsterdam attacker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miralem-Sulejmani-c25985, would be leaving his current side to play for a club in either German Bundesliga or Turkish Super Lig in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Amsterdammers sporting director, Marc Overmars, has now confirmed that all the reports and has admitted that the Serbian forward seems to be on the brink of an exit after attracting immense interest from several European clubs including Borussia Monchengladbach
and Besiktas.
“We are aware of the interest from Besiktas and Moncheongladbach. When the clubs move, we can definitely work out a deal. That's important for Miralem, if he wants to play in the second half of the season. He is not part of Frank de Boer's plans, and I expect
that won't change soon”, Overmars was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.
The 24-year-old, who arrived at Amsterdam Arena in the summer of 2008 for a mammoth 16.25 million Euros from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Heerenveen-c40463, has thus far represented De Joden in well over 100 games in all competitions.
However, the talented winger has failed to cement his place in the Amsterdammers’ line-up since the start of the 2012/13 campaign due to injuries, making only eight appearances thus far.
Sulejmani also recently admitted that he wants to move away from Amsterdam Arena, but has also insisted that he will make sure the next step in his career is perfect for him.
“The next step in my career must be correctly and carefully chosen. It's my wish to play in one of the strongest leagues in Europe”, the 24-year-old said while talking to Voetbal International.
Apart from Monchengladbach and Besiktas, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863, Bayer Leverkusen and West Ham United are also said to be interested in signing the versatile forward, who has an expiring contract at Amsterdam Arena that runs until the summer of 2013, in the upcoming January
transfer window.
Reports confirm that an offer in the region of seven million Euros would be enough to lure Sulejmani away from Amsterdam Arena.
