Sulfur Metabolism?

Can someon please explain to me why Sulfur metabolism is more significant in Anaerobic Environments? Thanks

  1. It doesn't require the input of oxygen. How does that work? I used to know the equation.  Somethng about sulfates.  

    I just wish it would get out of my well.


  2. Sulfur can be used as an electron acceptor by anaerobic bacteria same way oxygen is used by aerobes.
