Summer '09 Housing... What's Cheap?

Hi Everyone!

A couple friends and I are already looking for summer housing in New York City for 2009. and we were wondering what would be cheapest, be it apartments or universities bring on the suggestions!! We'll probably want to stay from about May to beginning of August... Thanks all!

There is nothing cheap about NYC.  You will only be able to get housing in an university if you're a student.  

You may try an outer borough.  Try around Manhattan College in the Bronx.  It's actually quite nice in that area (the Bronx gets a bad rap) and you aren't to far from the 1/9 line.

NYU and Columbia dorms.  Reserve your space early.

If that doesn't work, closer to summer on Craigslist you will be able to find students at the local universities who are subletting their places for the summer.
