Summer Cleaning?

So I don't really have plans for today. And I was thinking about just taking off today and do some major cleaning with my room. Not just straighting up. More like dusting, vacuming, organising, cleaning sheets, washing down surfaces, and maybe even fixing up my booksheleves!

I feel my room needs some cleaning like that!

So I was wondering if you had any good advice for me. To keep me motivated to doing it. And just to have fun with it! Also, what the best way of organsing, dusting, vacuming, and cleaning? Thanks for the help!

(And sorry for some of the mispellings I might've spelled! I typed fast)

  1. best motivation is a reward!

Do something just for you when you are finished!

  2. Well i clean myself

you should listen to your ipod

while cleaning & maybe sing along with the musicc

    organzing;

try organizing books same colors or biggest to smallest

vacumming;get every part even corners of your room

cleaning surfaces;get every part of it

  3. Well, if you're only tackling one room, you should be able to do a lot.  Here's how I tackle it:

    1.  Empty the dresser completely, wipe out drawers if needed.  Refold every item--if you haven't worn it in one year, put it in a pile for garage sale or Goodwill.  Replace all the other clothes, neatly stacked and organized by type.

    2.  Empty the closet completely.  Vacuum the carpet, wipe down shelves.  Same rule, if you haven't worn it in 1 year, put it in a pile for garage sale.  Replace items on shelves first--stack sweaters up neatly, refold blankets, etc.  Then organize the hanging items--blouses together, pants, skirts, dresses and so on.  You can even separate winter clothes from summer.

    3.  Now move on to the room.  Wash windows; launder curtains.  When you wash windows, open the window and wipe or vacuum out the sash, as well.

    4.  Use a swiffer to gently remove dust from the walls.

    5.  If you can, move each piece of furniture so that you can vaccum under each one.  Wipe down baseboards with a damp cloth.  Put the furniture back.

    6.  Dust the furniture, or polish it, depending on what you want to do.  Also dust or wash any light fixures.

    7.  Change or launder your bedding.

    8.  Last thing, vacuum your way out of the room, and voila!  You are done.

Best of luck.  I like to put on some of my favorite music and work along to that.
