I'm looking for a day care service to take care of a 6 year old from 8am-6pm over the summer. Does anyone know how much a week this would cost me?

  1. I'm a daycare teacher in Tulsa.  I would suggest looking for a privately owned daycare, not a corporate one.  If you go to a KinderCare, etc, you won't be getting as good care for your child.  Those are the cheapest, they can be less than $100 a week for a 6 year old, but you really get what you pay for.  A lot of churches offer daycares as a non-profit organisation so they won't be so expensive and you'll be getting better quality care providers.

edit: And I don't know ANY quality babysitters who only charge $4 an hour.  That's less than minimum wage.  Plus, your child won't be getting any social interaction with other kids.

  2. I wouldn't reccomend going to Day Cares, I reccomend babysitters. They are WAY less expensive, and your child gets attention all day. Unlike at daycare where there are several adults runnning around caring for everybody.

Babysitter cost about 4$ an hour, about 40$ a day, 200$ a week if you need a babysitter 5 days a week.

Day care is alot more, I went to daycare when I was ten, and JUST for me, it was about 7$ an hour. Plus taxes. So it was about 320$ a week. And I was there for 9 hours.

Just a suggestion, I live in Michigan so I dont know an daycares in Oklahoma. Some elementary schools usually offer daycare programs. Maybe your daughters school will offer a program. Good luck!
