Summer Math Packet?

i have a summer math packet that i got from my math teacher on the last day of school. we have to bring it in to school on the first day and give it to our new teacher. it is supposedly going to add credit to our report card. ayway, i just cant get motivated to do it. my packet it right infront of me and i just went through it just to see what kind of problems are in it. when i got to the back i saw that there was an answer key. i dont know why teachers would put an answer key in the back but whatever. now i am going to be tempted to cheat but i dont want to cheat! i want to make sure i understand something before i just copy down the answers.

i guess i'll try my best to answer the questions and then check to see if im right when im done...idk

what would YOU do?

  1. Rip out the answer sheets and put it in a place where you can't use it until you are finish with the packet.

  2. I think that you are being very immature about this. When you are given work then you need to own up to your responsibilites. Don't cheat you won't learn anything. You live in a country where you a free to learn and enhance your life don't waste that opportunity by cheating and being lazy about it. I am sorry if this sounds harsh but this is the truth.

  3. Do a page a day (or two) then look at the answer sheets to correct.

  4. tell the math teacher and/or your school or ill burn it - you get nowhere from cheating

  5. Teachers put answer keys to help you check your answers.  We can't be there to help you during the summer, so the answer key is the next best thing.  Teachers are relying on you to be honest and try your best, not just copy the answer.  Many times a teacher will not accept credit for an answer unless you show your work, so just copying the final answer down will not help you much.  Try it on your own then check your answer in the answer key.  If you get it wrong, you know to go back and try again until you get it right!

If I were you, I would figure out how many pages there are in the packet and divide it by how many days you have left to do it.  This way, if you just do 1 or 2 page a day, you will get it done without being overwhelmed.  Don't leave it to the last minute because you will only be frustrated.  Good luck!

  6. I would work on the problem and then check the answer...if it doesn't match theirs then I keep working on it til I get the same answer.

I don't use their answers to cheat but it helps me to figure out the way to come up with the same answer.  When I've got it right...then...I move on to the next one.

If you use it as a guide then it works better.  Anyone can cheat but when you have the answer it can help you understand how to get there.

(I think they put the answers there on purpose)

I think you have to show your work too......
