Question:

Summer Reading (9th Grade)?

Going into 9th grade, i need to read 2 books, one for global and one for English. I have decided on "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel for Global, but need to decide on a book for English. I am an advanced reader, and want to make a positive impact with my choice, but don't want to read something that will be hard to write an essay on. This summer i have already read many books, but idk what to count and write about. The book needs to be more than 125 pgs., fiction, and of 9th grade reading level or higher. I was thinking of "The Curious Incident of the Dog at Night-time" but i am fleeing from that because i think it was too easy. Is "The Kite Runner" too hard, or do you think that is a good one? Could you give me opinions on possible reads, that are exciting and complicated, yet easy to interpret and your ideas on the two books mentioned above. Thanks ♥
