Could someone help me with these questions please? Normally I would have read Animal Farm and done this myself but it looks so childish and stupid.
1. Animal Farm is both an allegory and a parable (a superficial story which has a deeper meaning).
Explain why the novel is described as each.
2. Create a chart of the characters in Animal Farm. Identify each and write a brief description of the
role each plays in the book.
3. Define propaganda (to spread a specific doctrine or view). Explain the role propaganda plays in
this book.
4. Compare the leadership of Snowball and Napoleon. Discuss how each abused his power.
5. Describe the process by which the pigs become more human.
6. At the end of the book, are the animals better off, worse off, or about the same as before the
revolution? Defend your answer.
7. Make a chronology of what you consider to be the ten most important events in the novel.
8. The novel can be viewed as a warning. What is Orwell’s message?
9. Read the following quotes and apply them to Animal Farm.
“Every revolutionary ends up by becoming either an oppressor or a heretic.â€Â
--Camus
“Revolutions have never lightened the burden of tyranny, they have only shifted
it to another shoulder.â€Â
--Shaw
“The scrupulous and the just, the noble, humane and devoted natures, the
unselfish and the intelligent, may begin a movement – but it passes away from them.
They are not the leaders of revolution. They are its victims.â€Â
--Conrad
“Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.â€Â
--Lord Acton
10. Why do you suppose Orwell refused to end his fairy tale with “and they lived happily ever after?â€Â
What point does he make with an unhappy ending?
Thanks anyone that helps XD
