Summer School Credits in New York

Question

Ok well I'm in 9th grade and I'm going to 10th in sept. i was wondering even if u didn't fail a class could you take it for the summer to receive additional credits?

And also i was wondering if u could do summer school for a language because i failed spanish and i wasn't sure if it was possible

well im not sure about NY but here in cali you can get ahead in credits by taking a class over summer (not a class you have already taken and passed) I took history in summer school to get ahead in credits. So in order to recieve extra credits you have to take a class that you havent taken before. Also many people took Spanish in summer school mostly becaused they failed...so I would say your chances are good
