Question:

Summer School?!?!?

i failed Algebra in 8 grade this year, and making it up in summer school, do I have to pass it in order to go to 9th grade in HS? Or is it okay to have like a D grade and attend every class, and then can go to High School??

And 1 more question. For high school, when I do algebra again (which is obvious cause I failed it in 8th, i'm super lazy in that class) if I fail it, do I have to repeat it in 10th grade? And if I fail it then, do I take it up until the 12 grade, or do I take Geometry next if I flunk Algebra 2 times??

  1. You have to take the class until you pass it. You have to earn so many credits in your math classes to graduate. Geometry is usually taken in 10th grade if you pass algebra or not. It La it is required for graduation. If you continue to fail throughout high school you may be looking at 3 to 4 math classes in your senior year. You can pass and do get credit for a D grade but you should try for better than that.

Would it not have been better to ask this in the secondary education forum instead of the home school forum?

  2. First of all I agree with renee 704 why are you asking this in the homeschool section? Not to make us all sound mean, but you need to get an attitude adjustment and stop being lazy. If that is the only reason you are failing. Usually most HS only need 2 years of math to graduate. So if your goal is to flunk, you can for fresh and soph, and then take algebra and geometry junior and senior year. You have 4 years to wake up and stop being lazy. Enjoy school. You'll regret your mistakes after your out.
