Question:

Summer Theatre Try-Outs?

Here's the thing. I am doing summer theatre and the show is Willy Wonka and The chocolate Factory the musical. We have top sing a song with an elasped time of 30 to 60 seconds. Unfortunately, I have nothing that in my repertoire that would be appropriate for a kids show. i mean, I don't want to do audition with something from Les Mis like "I dreamed a Dream" or "Who am I?" That would be kind of wierd. I was thinking of doing "My Philosophy" from You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, but I can't find a copy without all the monolouge. UGGH! Any suggestions or....well......anything? please answer.

Thanxx,

Chicachick.

  1. Try Disney songs from their Broadway shows. You really can't go wrong with a Disney song, especially when auditioning for a children's show.

  2. You could just do the last verse to the end, that should fit within your time limit. Start at "It's like a guarantee..."

(start at 2:05 on the video, obvisouly without waiting for the "Ahhh!! this is the last day" stuff). you just need to old school cut and paste the sheet music. :)

  3. Just sing something that shows your range...
