Ok, so yay me! I just bought a new car after working so hard to buy something I will have fun driving. I'm realy happy. Anyways getting off subject. The bad news is this car comes with Bridgestones summer tires, we're excpecting snow, in the next day or so. I live in VA and was wondering, what should I do, can I drive my car or should I get new tires, the thing is I realy don't have that much money left over after buying this car, an being 19, the payments are very expensive, with no cosigner. Can anyone please help, should I be freaking out or no?!?!

  1. most tires will do fine if you know how to drive in snow or slick roads.... snow tires do a better job only if you know how to drive with them.....read about how to drive on snow should help some but doing it is the only way to leran how

  2. As stated above you should do just fine as long as you drive correctly on the snow but there is a difference.

Winter tires are not like All-Season tires. Winter tires have special rubber compounds designed to improve traction, handling and braking in all cold weather conditions, not just ice and snow.

Winter Tires are designed to deliver safety and control in snow, ice, and cold weather conditions. Many people think that all-season tires can deliver this same performance, but this is not true. The superior traction that winter tires deliver, as much as a 25 to 50 percent increase over all-season tires, can very well be the margin you need to stop in time or turn to avoid trouble.
