Summer Vacation ... ?

Question

I'm looking for a nice and quite place for summer vacation in Maryland or Virginia..., something near a big river/lake...?! Fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, maybe hunting (but not necessary), etc.

Deep Creek Lake. It is the absolute best. I go every summer since a lot of my family lives there and it is so much fun. You can do everything that you asked for there, including hunting if you go during the season and have a permit of course :). If you go in Sept. during the week there are usually not many people but it is pretty busy during the summer. I'm sure that most hotels you stay at would have Internet access, but you should go with out for a week. It really shows how much you take it for granted. I would check out about camping in one of the parks. The parks there are Herrington Manor, New Germany, Swallow Falls, and State Park ( I think that is what it is called but it is just the general one that is right on the lake. It is in Western Maryland about 3 hours from Pittsburgh and from Baltimore. I really hope if you go there that you enjoy it!!!
