Summer in the UK.... Is this not the coldest summer you've experienced in a long time!?

I'm only 20, but never in my life have do I remember a summer being as cold as this one!

Global warming? that's just laughable!

Notice aswell, they're not calling it global warming anymore, but "climate change"

In the 1970s or 80s the BBC were documenting how how we were heading into an ice age!

Nobody seems to remember that.... and how they keep changing their mind. Fear mongroling I say, to make us feel bad (it's our fault) pay more money for things....

Back the original question though. Is it cold or what!?!?! (for summer)

no not really - we were stuck in a coach in a jam for 4 hrs on monday and i was sweating like a pig!

I cant believe the weather!

We are planning a beach themed party in the garden for my brothers 18! Been planning it for ages thinking it was a safe bet for end of July Hum maybe not!

usually at this time of year as soon as i come in the front door i change into a vest and put my hair up,because its too hot!!this year i wouldnt know where to find a vest as i havent needed one and my hair stays down!!perhaps if the green campaigners told people wed have summers like this from now on maybe people would do something for the environment!!!

It was only 2 weeks ago when people were complaining that it was too hot!!!  It's been quite a good summer so far, and remember it's not even August yet... give it a chance...

I agree, I had to wear two coats this week. I live just north of London so it's not even as though I live out of civilisation (north of the watford gap)

I think summer started very early June was quite warm then July has had its odd days but now its starting to get colder. & More rain is to come in August it certainly isnt going to be warm :(

Must certainly be one of the coldest summers in a long time.

It's looking like being one of the wettest too, just to add to our misery.

With fuel bills of £1,000 a year forecast for the fairly near future, seems as if we will have to shiver all the year round !

UK weather has always been unpredictable, that's why the package tourism industry started.  I don't think it's particularly cold.. wet, yes, but not cold.  I remember the bad summer of 1977, after the drought of 1976.  But as someone else stated, it's not as bad as last year... yet.  It will be interesting to see how the average temperature for this year compares with the last 25 or 50 years.
