Summer job in california?

me and my friend really want to work in california this summer but the thing is

we don't know how to find jobs while still in our home state of illinois

or how to find room and board because we are broke college students

Summer is gone this year, you must apply from spring next year for many theme parks such as Great America in Santa Clara and Knott park in Buena Park and some national parks such as Yosemite. Summer interns get from $7/hr

Ditto. Summer's over. Nobody's hiring summer help now. Next spring, check out the Disneyland web site. They hire a lot of people. Also, check out craigslist for apartments in Anaheim, Buena Park, or Fullerton. You might get a deal on a place because students tend to go home for the summer.

catalina island. it's a tourist island about an hour away from long beach by boat. most day trippers are just parents and kids, and the night lifers are usually camping. it's basically made up or shops and resturants and boating. the season starts memorial day weekend and ends labor day weekend. all the workers come down to the island all summer, and usually live there. look it up on google, they have job descriptions and information online. i think it would be a fun experience.
