Question:

Summer jobbing!?

So I'm only a high school student and I've managed to get a summer job teaching language over the internet.

However, there are three questions I'm wondering about:

1) I am recording the hours I spend teaching...but how "official" does it have to be on my transcript? For example: Junior Year > Summer > 36 hours spent on teaching language...

Or does it need to be more formal like: Junior Year > Summer > 36 hours spent on teaching English to local students, meeting at blah blah and earning this much. For referrals, contact blah blah blah.

2) Which would colleges more like:

-----> "Tutored local high school students with English" OR

-----> "Organized language exchange lessons with local high school students...

I mean...what do the colleges want you to be doing in summer?

(btw, i'm in high school if I haven't made that clear :P)

  1. 1) The first (simpler) description is fine. I assume you mean resume, not transcript

    2) The second sounds more impressive

    3) People wouldn't know. They have to assume you are telling the truth. They might ask you about it in an interview.
