  1. A.

    write the equation of the line in standard form

    y = -2x - 2

    where the slope = -2 (the coefficient of x)

    the parallel line has the same slope

    to find equation of second (parallel) line:

    (y - 0)/(x - 6) = -2

    y = -2(x - 6)

    y = -2x + 12

    B.

    the slope of the perpendicular line is the negative reciprocal (-1/(-2)) = 1/2

    (y - 0)/(x - 6) = 1/2

    y = 1/2(x - 6)

    y = x/2 - 3
