I wanted to have a party this summer and i was thinking of a backyard party, but my backyard isn't that big, of course i would only have no more then 10 people over. But my parents might not like the idea of BBQ-ing for all these people. Also i wanted to invite guys to the party too, as in guy friends not boyfriends but parents don't allow that either

So basically does anyone know a good party idea that could keep my parents from spazzing and maybe if possible a way to talk to them about inviting guys.

  1. beach party is a great idea!!!! That would be soo much fun! Just say that the guys are your friends!

  2. First of all about the parents, I would say that they are just friends and that they can both be there totally chaperoning and that it is just going to be a fun party and no hooking up.  Tell them you will invite the same number of boys as girls.  Tell them you will set a 3-1/2 hour time limit for the party and make sure that all parents know this in order to pick up their kids on time.  Tell them all the activities you have planned, because if kids have nothing to do they tend to get into trouble.   Tell your parents you want them to get to know your friends.  Tell your parents they can set all the ground rules ahead of time and tell you what is expected of you and you promise to do it.

My idea would be a luau outside and this can be done really cheap and can  be moved inside if weather is bad.  Also, you can do this very cheap because the dollar tree dollar store has everything you need to have this party.  They have invitations, leis, skirts, coconut cups, tropical plates, cup, hawaii signs, tiki theme items, limbo stick, luau CD and so much more.  You can give everyone a lei as they come in and have everyone dress hawaii or tropical.  You can do limbo and have hula contests.  Here are some games:  http://www.alohafriendsluau.com/games.ht...  you have to have a tropical pinata:  http://www.mexicanpinatas.info/LUAU_PINA...

    Here is a game:  http://www.orientaltrading.com/applicati...

Cheap luau items and party favors:  http://www.orientaltrading.com/applicati...  For food just make or buy pizzas and have sundaes.

    Here is another theme:

Movie party at home. Have a movie themed party. They sell decorations for this at oriental trading. com and you can also find some movie stuff on the hollywood sites I mentioned above. Watch a cool movie, have popcorn and all kids of candy and junk food. Make or buy pizza and have sundaes. Have a sleep over with the girls if you want. Have a dance if your have room.

  3. I think you sould just explain to them that they are just your friends and nothing more..say to they if you allow me to have the party then i will do anything that you tell me to do..trust me it works..ive tried it before aswel and now my parents dont care if boys come to my house or if i go out with them..

    hope i helped x

  4. Go somewhere where there are other people so that if your parents are here and you do meet guys then they cant comlain. Maybe go to the beach or go to the cinema or go ice skating or go to the park.

  5. I always liked going to the skating rink.In your case its probably better than a pool party because you have all your clothes on. And about the guy thing, it depends on WHY they won't allow you to have guys over. Ask them why and tell them you want to know the real answer, not just "because I said so". What I always did if they said "because I said so" is start naming reasons why and when they got annoyed of it, they'd tell me the real reason. Oh, and if you know the answer already, like it's because they've had  a bad experience with you and guys in the past, then don't ask. That'll just start a fight.

  6. Go to a water park

  7. Pool Party, it's the best way to go with a summer party for 14 year olds. Really just chill and hang out but you could also have contests in the pool like who can dive deeper, jump farther, ect. Instead of BBQing get mini sandwhiches and wraps. Have mini sodas for everyone to. Play music loudly and a dj would be great to if you can. Be maturer and they will let you invite boys.

  8. Talk to your parents. Let them know what you are thinking, and see what they think. Doesn't hurt to ask. If they don't agree to the plan, ask them what they would agree to.

Here are some great party ideas that you could use at this site: www.easy-party-ideas-and-games.com (go to Teen Party Ideas). You might be interested in their "classic teen party", which requires minimal decoration, but is lots of fun!

A scavenger hunt might be fun too. There is a page on that website for scavengers hunts.

    Good luck!

  9. have a beach party. thats always fun. to invite guys just tell your parents your interested in boys and tell them you want to invite a few
