Summer programs to help less fortunate kids in different countries?

i heard about this very vaguely by a friend..

i never asked real details cos i wasnt sure i was interested in it but now i am.

apparently there are little programs that send kids in ontario (well this is where i am) that are interested (along with others) to help kids in different countries.

what is this called?

any information on it?

There is one group, the link is below, that will help you volunteer abroad.

There is a fee that you have to pay and I am not sure what it is or what the age requirements are.
