Summer running?

Im a sophomore and for my junior year i want to run on the cross country team. i am about 5'8 and am quite skinny so i dont want to lose wait or anything, i just want to start running this summer so i can qualify for the time. I should be able to run 3 miles in under 25 minutes to qualify. Anybody know any summer training i could do to prepare and to get into proper shape?

  1. I ran cross country on my high school team last year for the first time. just keep building up your running throughout the summer. start with 2 miles (or 1 if you haven't ran much) and do it 3-4 times a week. slowly increase your milage and you'll be at 3-5 before you know it. plus on some off days participate in other active activities such as biking or rollerblading. be sure to rest at least once every 2 weeks too. good luck.
