Question:

Summer temperature in Victoria, BC ?

I am considering moving to Victoria, BC from Toronto. I was just researching the average summer temperature there and I'm coming up with around 21.8 Celsius. I think Toronto's is around 22, but often enough we get temperature in the high 20's to low 30's (27-31), which is awesome for going to the beach! Can anyone tell me if Victoria ever gets that warm in the summer? Or is it a city that stays in the moderate temperature range, never really getting warmer than 24 or so?

Thanks for your help! I've never been to BC so a little clueless on the topic.

  1. Although Victoria normally has fairly pleasant summer conditions, occasional spells of hot weather - over 35°C - may occur when north to northweserly winds bring hot air from the interior of the country.

January and February are the hottest months of the year when mean maximum temperatures range from the low 20's near the coast and on the higher mountains to the low 30's on the northern plains.
