Summer transfer window review – Assessing the transfer window activity: English Premier League (Part 5)
In this last part of our featured series we take a look at some of the remaining teams in the English Premier League and their adventures in the summer transfer window so far...
Queens Park Rangers
Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 more commonly known as QPR are the somewhat like Manchester City as they exhibited last season when they bought their way to the Championship title and as a result they earned their place in the 2011-2012 Premier
League season. In the summer transfer window, QPR have already secured the services of Kieran Dyer despite the Englishman’s woeful fitness record. They have also recently confirmed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adel-Taarabt-c3610 has been convinced to stay with the London outfit for another
year which means that they will have plenty of offensive talent within their ranks come next season.
Stoke City
The Potters have been quick in the summer transfer window as they have secured the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-Woodgate-c19069 on a free transfer but the English defender is on a pay as you play contract which compensates for his fitness issues.
However Stoke do need a striker to start regularly up front alongside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Crouch-c29741 has been touted up as a possible transfer target for Stoke but Tottenham will be unwilling
to part ways with the Englishman as he has formed a formidable partnership with Rafael Van der Vaart.
Sunderland
The Black Cats have been the busiest Premier League club in the summer transfer window as they have already secured the services of John O’Shea and Wes Brown from Sunderland, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Larsson-c32733 from Birmingham City along with the
likes of Kieron Westwood, Connor Wickham, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102 at the start of the summer transfer window.  Sunderland desperately
need a striker too as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson has confirmed that the young forward will stay at Manchester United.
Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs have not done much business this summer as all the news has been centred on Chelsea’s bid for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857. Tottenham are apparently desperate to keep hold of their star midfielder but Chelsea are willing to go all out for
the Croatian midfielder. Harry Redknapp has already confirmed that Tottenham’s evaluation of their player is still not matched by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. Furthermore the English manager has also confirmed that Tottenham want to retain Modric for the coming season.
Nonetheless, the fact remains that Tottenham have a history of holding out for humungous transfer fees. They need the money as well if they want to attract a world class striker to White Hart Lane as well. Tottenham are not playing
in next season’s UEFA Champions League thus it will be hard to gain the attention of any big names this summer but Redknapp will be keen to add a right back as well as a striker to his ranks if they want to challenge http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 for the last UEFA
Champions League spot.
