  1. i dont think so homeschool is the same as reg. school juzt home {boring} so either way ull probably stay backk

  2. It probably isn't worth you becoming an *official* homeschooler only for the summer.

Okay, saying that, you may want to check with the school whether, if you studied independently at home, they would let you sit a placement test before the next school term starts.

And I'm not even going to ask why you're asking this question now when it's the middle of winter and I'm shivering my tail off ; - ).

PS Home-education is what you make of it. If the first poster found it boring & not beneficial, that says more about her than it does about home-ed per se.

Incidentally, I love it when Americans talk about 'gas issues'. You guys are paying...what? $4 per gallon?!? Up here, it's going for $32 a gallon.

  3. It depends on what grade you are in. If you are in grade school, your parent can pretty much make that decision for you with an online charter school. If you are in high school, they simply go by credits and it really doesn't matter what grade you are in. You can work at your own pace and catch up during the school year.

  4. Are you talking about homeschooling only for summer school, or going into homeschool for next year?

If it's the former, you'd have to check with your school to see if they'd accept homeschool credit for summer school.  My guess is no, but it's their call.

If you're looking at homeschooling for next year, you can start that at any time.  The pass/fail requirements are different - basically, you and your parents work together to set up your coursework, you're accountable to them for it, and once you finish it, you're done.  You can get done in less time, with more retention, and trust me...it's nothing like public school at home (unless you choose to make it that way).  It's only boring if you don't choose to do anything!

Edit...oh my lands, Hannah, $32/gallon?  That's insane.  It also makes me feel a lot better about $3.79...oy.

  5. By the Order of what agency are you required to attend summer school?  Why would there be a gasoline issue if it is a home-school exercise?  It is at home.  Presumably, you are at your home.  That is why its called home.  You give me the impression that you have been to public schools where you are taught what to think and not how.

  6. Ask if you can do a distance ed course where you complete  your coursework at home and mail it in to receive credit.  I did something similar when I was in high school through Texas Tech University.  It was easy and worked out well.
