I did not plead guilty to a speeding offence because the police could not give me an answer to a crucial question about my exact possition on the road when the offence was alleged. They have finally decided to take me to court but i recieved the summonds over 6 months after the offence, the summonds is however dated over a month earlier, does the 6 month rule apply?

  1. It will not apply to this at all.......................

  2. No it doesn't.

  3. i do know they have to charge you within a certain time period however the date itself could be in question as you say you contested certain evidence so they will rule out the time limit on that delay, the easiest answer would be to speak to a solicitor as he knows the law back to front and besides its not a serious offence in it being a speeding offence just get it over and done with.by way of fine fixed penelty, unless your determined to prove your innocence then go for it,good luck.
