  1. Acid rain is rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic. It has harmful effects on the environment and on structures. Acid rain is mostly caused by emissions due to human activity of sulfur and nitrogen compounds which react in the atmosphere to produce acids. In recent years, many governments have introduced laws to reduce these emissions

  2. Some facilities such as coal-fired power generating plants that produce electricity generate a lot of sulfur from the burning of coal. This sulfur goes up into the sky with the rest of the smoke and, in the clouds, it bonds chemically with droplets of water to form SULFURIC ACID. When these droplets get larger and heavier they fall to the earth as rain and the sulfur laden stuff becomes what we call ACID RAIN. And the acid rain kills plants, particularly trees.

In some cases, it need not fall to the ground, the clouds are low enough so that they can coat a tree that is up higher on a mountain and the sulfuric acid will kill the tree.

  3. i now that happens in venus the planet

  4. Unfortunately, with the rapid growth of human population and since industrial revolution, pollution impacts have started to get worse. Motors, factories and the use of fossil fuels to generate electricity, all contribute to the vast increase of air pollutants including sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx) etc. These acidic gasses will increase the acidity of rainwater.
