Question

my flat screen 42" 18 months old, the sound went off and then shortley later lost the picture. The red light kept going off and on but no picture or sound. I unpluged it for several days, it came back on for 50 minutes then no sound and later no picture. I just turned it on after being off for 2 weeks, I have a picture but no sound.
