  1. Birds can be very ill without showing it.  This bird could be sick.  What is the store's policy?  Do they guarantee their pets?  I wouldn't buy a bird who may be ill.

See if you can call around nearby towns to see if any are available.  Are there any bird breeders in your area?  It's best to buy directly from a breeder, not a pet store.  For a list of bird breeders in your area, go to:

    www.pet-net.net/usa/indiana.htm

  2. Many questions you need to ask yourself.  What kind of guarantee does the store offer on the conure?  Is this bird friendly?  Can you handle it?  Will you be happy with it if the conure won't warm up to you?  Do you have extra money for the vet?  I do think your concern is valid.  Think it over carefully.

  3. If the sun conure comes with a nice cage for 200.00 then he was already someones pet, the bird is probably lonely and depressed because his owners are selling him and he is not in his element.

Ask the pet shop if they have any guarantee on the bird that you would like to take it to the vet to check its health if so, take it to the vet if their is any problems ask the vet what he thinks you should do....

  4. i don't think you should buy him, because he does not look healthy to me. ask them if they will get any other sun conures, but i'm sorry, i think you should let it go. you can do some research or go top a vet and ask why he is behaving like that, and if it is not serious you can buy him, and TO THE VET!

  5. He might just be bores so see if your petsmart will let you hold him for a little while if they dont then dont get it.

  6. Do NOT buy the bird from a S****y pet store...they are not being given the proper care....Check out your local bird sanctuaries they offer different types of bird that need a good home. Check them out you won't be disappointed.

Don't breed, Don't buy, Adopt a needy bird instead.
