Sun wheel at disneyland?

i would like to know if like the lil cart thing u get in on the sun wheel dose the it self go like around in circle. or dose it jus go side to side?

1/3 of the gondolas on the Sun Wheel have a fixed point, and just do a "normal" swing.

The other 2/3's are on wonky-oval shaped tracks, and they travel these tracks.

Now, the ride moves slowly, so there is not enough momentum to get them to go in a circle. They will however, slide from side to side on their tracks. It can be a bit unnerving!

On the Sunwheel at Disney's California Adventure there are two different choices for which "chairs" you want.  There is a moving chair, or a still chair. If I can remember correctly, there is special lines for each chair you wish to go on.

The moving chair will go from side to side on it's "track" as the Sunwheel moves.  There are quite a few moving chairs, and they each have their own track.

The still chairs will be spread out also throughout the Sunwheel, and as the ride moves, the still chairs will stay put and won't move around like the moving chairs.  I believe that each chair holds about four people - you can ask a Cast Member for how many it holds.
