i have a two year old and EVERY time i put sunblock on his face it gets into his eyes and the more his eyes water the worse it gets. I tried putting it on very lightly i wont put it on his hands but he some how manages to get it in his eye.

My question to you is what do you do prevent this? what kind of sunblock do you use?

  1. put on forehead instead

  2. we have started using this new sunblock that my family LOVES, i think it's by neutrogena. it's a spray and it feels cool when you put it on

when we put it on the kids' faces we mist them in the face a few times. we let them cover their eyes with a face cloth

we do reapply throughout the day, but it seems to run less than the typical goopy cream

    hope that helps?

  3. my cousin usually sprays a liquid suncreen designed specifically for babies ... the bottle should say "For babies" Anyhow, she sprays the sunblock on her hand and gently dabs his face. She stopped using the regular sunblock lotion because it was too strong and her baby's eyes were red for a few days and the pediatrician suggested she use spray sunblock (like coopertone or banana boat)

if that doesn't work for ur baby... you can always use a hat/sunglassses for your son (if he can manage to leave it on) bet he'll look really cute LOL

  4. Get a solid sunscreen. They look like a glue stick. It takes a bit to get soft enough to rub on, but it won't bleed into baby's eyes.

I used it for my kids because the sprays have a ketone in them that I am highly allergic to.

  5. For around the eyes (and most of the face for that matter) I use sunblock solid sticks.  Banana boat babies/kids and Coppertone babies makes them.  It looks like a large chapstick.  Its more solid/waxy, so it doesn't melt, spray or rub into their eyes.

    Hope this helps!

  6. we use the water babies spray also.  i love it.  Its not so greasy.  i just spray it on my hand and apply to his face.

  7. i use a spray..i spray it onto my hands then just around the cheeks and nose and forehead. Sunglasses should cover the rest of his face..and a hat
