  3. Ice away the heat. It hurts like h**l until you get numb, but it it the most effective way to get that heat out of your skin. If it is on your back, get a partner to run the ice cube directly on your skin, moving it constantly but slowly. I'm a redhead and I have been purple from sunburns. The only thing that really works is ice. You won't blister if you do it. Follow with pure aloe gel once the heat comes back, keep it moisturized.
