Reports this morning had suggested that Fulham manager Mark Hughes had won the race to sign Lacina Traore, however, the player’s agent refuted those claims, insisting that no deal had been concluded. The player’s representative is hopeful his client will finalize
a deal with a Premier League club soon.

Traore is the latest sensation to come from Cote d’Ivoire and his performances have not gone unnoticed. Thomas Boehm admitted that there is a lot of interest in Traore but conceded that no one has been able to meet their ₤10 million asking price.

“There are plenty of talks between clubs, but nothing concrete. I am hopeful that we can conclude a deal, but remember while our goal is to bring him to the Premier League; there is also interest from abroad. But no club has been able to meet our evaluation,”
said Boehm.

Traore is yet to make his international debut for his country, Cote d’Ivoire. The 6-feet-8-inch striker began his football career playing at youth academy managed by Jean Marc Guillou, who is a close associate of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, and has helped develop
