Sunderland A4 and A3 Tuesday recap
Sunderland ended the day today with two A3 races, the Bet In Running @ Williamhill.com Stakes and the Live Dealer Casino @ Williamhill.com Stakes.
In the Bet In Running Stakes, Elwick Agogo certainly was a-going as he took charge from the traps, leading the race after the first bend. Distant Mac was a distant second losing to Agogo by 2 ¼ lengths. 9-4 race favourite, Elwick Pria had every chance to catch up to the leaders after a slow start, but failed to do so and took third, a length behind Mac. Nelson Maldini couldn’t close the gap from the sixth trap and finished in fourth. Deadly Tune took fifth and Black Steeple had a rough finish to end in last place.
In the Live Dealer Casino Stakes, both joint favourites finished out of the top three. Punters looking to make it big in this race had a great opportunity as the 5-1 longest shot in the race, Clonavaddy Cara, won by ¾ lengths over Classical King. Second place King and third place finisher Balliniska Rock were both 4-1. One of the 5-2 joint favourites, Hipsway Lily, had chances to push her way into the top three, but couldn’t do it and finished in fourth. Brave Bolt was the other joint favourite and lost ground after the fourth bend pushing him back all the way to last place. Rathmartin Man finished in fifth.
There were also four A4 races at Sunderland today. Stone Mole Cilla won the Bet Live & In Running race by 2 ¼ lengths over Etherley Ted. Cilla was a 2-1 joint favourite with Elwick Droopy, who finished in sixth place. Linton Lady Bug took third.
Distant Basanti won the More Sports & Action over 2-1 race favourite, Super Fox. Oklahoma Sunset led for the majority of this race, but lost the lead on the fourth bend, and ended up in last place. Super Fox took the lead of after the fourth bend, but Basanti proved to be his kryptonite as she snuck by him near the finish line to win by ¾ lengths.  Blue Sandstone finished in third behind Fox by a shoulder.
Snoozys Tuesdays proved to not be snoozing on Tuesday as she beat Hellroad Star by 1 1/4 lengths in the Racing TV Stakes. Toko Tom looked good early on but Tuesdays took the lead on the second bend, pushing Tom back to a third place finish. 5-2 race favourite, Clattermole, lost ground on the first and second bends and ended up in fifth place.
In the Slots and Reels Goodbye Susie said goodbye to the rest of the pack as she won by 1 ¼ lengths over Sorrowful Boy. Allowdale Jet took third place while 9-4 race favourite finished in fourth.
