The striker, who is on a season long loan from Arsenal, has failed to deliver since arriving at the Stadium of Light under

confident he could more out of him.
O’Neill said while speaking to reporters:
“I think that is paramount. He has a lot of natural talent. He wasn't always in the starting line-up at Arsenal. They have allowed him to come up here and now it's an important time for him.”
The new Black Cats boss felt that the reason why Bendtner had been unable to net goals had been Sunderland’s form this season. In their 14 Premier League matches, Sunderland have only managed 16 goals, which shows just how badly they need a decent goal scorer.
O’Neill was certain Bendtner would be able to fill that spot, guaranteed he was given the right training at the Stadium of Light. In addition to that, the manager felt Bendtner needed time to adjust to his new club, having been at Arsenal since 2005.
O’Neill revealed:
“This season is one where he can come through, he can score some goals. He obviously might have to adapt to a different style of play in the sense that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 have the ball all the time in the vast majority of matches, even against the very best teams.”
The new Sunderland manager refused to criticize the former Black Cats boss Steve Bruce, claiming he did not feel the manager lacked in any department. In fact, O’Neill even refused to claim that there needed to be a change in the attitude at the club after
the departure of Bruce.
He said:
“I think that would be really unfair on Steve Bruce's time here to start talking about a change of attitude.”
