Sunderland boss Steve Bruce admits interest in Manchester City forward Craig Bellamy
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce revealed he was considering making an offer for Manchester City forward http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294
Mancini. With recent reports suggesting there is no room for Bellamy at Eastlands in the upcoming season, the Welshman is on the look-out for a new club.
Roberto Mancini had a healthy budget in the transfer window and has already brought in three players, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stefan-Savic-c34022 and Gael Clichy. While he is definitely looking in to bring in more players, the Italian manager will also be looking to offload
some players in the transfer window. It seems Bellamy is amongst those players and is headed towards a Manchester City exit.
With the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steed-Malbranque-c33957 to Ligue 1 side St Etienne, Steve Bruce is looking to add another player to his squad. The Black Cats have seen the addition of nine new players during the transfer window, along with the departure of many more. The
availability of Bellamy has sparked rumours of a move to the Stadium of Light.
Steve Bruce revealed he was keeping an eye on the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 international, along with many other Premier League sides who were looking to add an experienced player to their squad ahead of the new season. While Bruce has a few players who could replace the Malbranque
on the left flank, however, Bruce revealed none of them were naturals in that position, which is why he was considering making a bid of the Manchester City man.
Bruce said while speaking to reporters:
“I haven't got a wide left player, not a natural one, although we've got people who can play there, so we'll see.
We're all looking at Manchester City because they've got some great players who can't even get in the squad.
Craig Bellamy is a possibility. He can play wide left and up front so we'll see.
I'd think every manager's looking at City. Steed leaving frees up a wage for us.”
Bellamy signed for Manchester City in the January transfer window of 2009 for an estimated fee of £14 million. He went on to make 11 appearances in all competitions in addition to scoring five goals for the remainder of the 2009-2010 season. The next season
he went on to make 40 appearances and found the back of the net 13 times but feared for his future under new manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323.
At Cardiff City, Bellamy made 36 appearances and scored 11 goals. Despite an impressive season, Cardiff have not attempted to sign Bellamy on a more permanent deal, which leaves the Welshman free to look for another club. Manchester City have placed an affordable
£4 million price tag on the forward despite Bellamy pleading with the club to let him leave on a free transfer.
