Sunderland boss Steve Bruce hints at more activity in the transfer market
Sunderland manager Steve Bruce revealed he could still go on to make further signings in the summer transfer window, after having already brought in nine players. He also said he would consider offloading more players if he felt it would benefit the club
in the upcoming season. So far there have been ten players who have parted ways with the Black Cats and with the way things are going, there could be more.
Bruce claimed after the end of last season that Sunderland would aim for a higher finish this season, preferably in the top six. Sunderland surprisingly finished 10th on the Premier League table and their spending in the summer has shown that
they are determined to finish even further up in the upcoming season.
Among his various signings in the transfer window, Bruce brought in former Manchester United players Wes Brown and John O’Shea. The Red Devils duo are expected to add experience in the Sunderland squad, which Steve Bruce is certain will help fire them into
the top half of the Premier League table. While Bruce admitted he was pleased with his current squad, he hinted there could be further changes with a month remaining in the transfer window.
Bruce said while speaking to reporters:
“A manager's http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 is to keep knocking on the chairman's door, we don't want to be satisfied because we've got to keep improving.
And if there's somebody who can improve us and it's right, then we'll look at it. But we're very, very happy with what we've done.
We're very close to having a squad which resembles what we're looking for. But we're never satisfied us managers, so never say never.”
Bruce hinted that there were more players who were close to leaving the club in the upcoming days, he continued:
“I envisage one or two will be leaving the building, I would have thought.
It might be two, three or four leaving in the next few days.”
Amongst the ten players who have left the Stadium of Light, there are various players who have been sent out on loan moves to get more experience. Then there are the ones who have been offloaded to get more money to spend in the transfer window. The three
players who have recently been linked with a Stadium of Light exit are http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/George-McCartney-c14574.
