Sunderland boss Steve Bruce welcomes back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Bardsley-c29900
Sunderland manager Steve Bruce will be pleased to welcome back two key players to the squad as the Black Cats prepare for the fixture against Bolton Wanderers. Like the Trotters, Sunderland have had a poor start to the season but have so far been unable
to return to winning ways which is why the upcoming trip to the Reebok Stadium is extremely important.
Nicklas Bendtner and Phil Bardsley were unavailable for selection for different reasons, but their absence made all the difference for Sunderland as they stumbled to a loss to Arsenal before settling for a 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion. Bruce will
be looking forward to adding both the players to the team that starts against Bolton Wanderers.
The Arsenal striker, Bendtner, could not feature against his parent club because of a clause in his loan agreement to Sunderland. His absence could very well have been the reason the Black Cats failed to score another equaliser against the Gunners at the
Emirates Stadium. Bardsley on the other hand has been unavailable due to suspension, but having served his term will be returning for Sunderland.
Bruce said in an interview:
“He's been immense. Nick has been the one who has settled better than anybody and because of the way he is and the confidence he portrays in himself he has come up here and thought, 'I am just going to enjoy it' and he has enjoyed playing.
He's a bit similar to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 took a little bit of time to settle.”
The Black Cats boss was full of praise for Bendtner, the 23-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 on a season long move. Bruce compared him to Manchester
United ace Danny Welbeck, claiming the Danish striker had as much potential if not more to be a top striker.
He revealed:
“You can just see Nick enjoying coming and playing here and being given the opportunity to play week in, week out.
He hadn't played for 12 months, so I think his contribution has been terrific.”
Bardsley on the other hand, will also be returning for the Black Cats and Bruce revealed he was looking forward to having the 26-year-old full-back return to the team. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 international’s unavailability has been long and unnecessary according to
the Sunderland boss, who will be welcoming back Bardsley after four weeks.
He continued:
“It's been the longest suspension I can ever remember a player getting. It's gone on for weeks.”
