Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn: Darren Bent replacement will be signed in summer 2011
Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn revealed that the club will sign a replacement for Darren Bent in the summer of 2011.
He told the media, “It’s important that you’re always a transfer window ahead in this business and we’ve already started looking at the summer. But we haven’t reached the stage yet where we’ve drawn up lists with named targets in order of priority.”
“One thing that we absolutely keen on is making sure we get the right player and the right sort of person for this club. But obviously there are one or two places that need strengthening and with Darren Bent having gone in the January transfer window, that’s
obviously something to look at,” Quinn added.

The chairman refused to name the players that the club has shortlisted to replace the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 hitman. Quinn stated that the club was in process of scouting the ideal candidate to replace Bent.
Lorient striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international has impressed a host of clubs with his eye-catching performances for the Ligue 1 side in the ongoing 2010-11 season. The 23-year-old striker has
scored 17 goals in 26 appearances for the club.
Quinn revealed that the club is planning to spend according to the new rules of Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and will not pay over the odds for any player.
He also added that their huge losses of 2010 will not affect their business in the transfer market as they look to take the club to new heights.
Sunderland have done a decent job in the ongoing season and are placed eighth on the League table with 38 points from 29 games. The Black Cats have been hampered by a host of injury problems, which has halted their progress to qualify for the UEFA Europa
League next season.
