Along with Sunderland, Newcastle United are believed to be interested in acquiring the services of the 23-year-old midfielder. Both Premier League sides could be involved in a clash to sign the Ajax man, who is worth an estimated 12 million pounds.
Anita currently has two years remaining on his existing contract with Ajax and said he was aware that the Eredivisie side would not let him leave in the current transfer window. However, he admitted there was a possibility that he could leave next season.
Whatever the case, Anita is considering a move to the English Premier League, which has some of the clubs interested. Sunderland and Newcastle United have so far emerged as top contenders to sign the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 international.
The player revealed he would consider any interest shown by a Premier League side and would discuss it with his parents. He believed it was an opportunity that was too good to pass up, especially since it was a League where he wanted to play.
Anita admitted the club had made it clear that they did not wish for him to leave in the near future, especially since he had two years remaining on his contract. He revealed he did not mind staying, especially with the promise of Champions League football
in the upcoming season.
Anita said while speaking to reporters:
“I am going to seriously consider any interest and will discuss it with my parents. The Premier League is a top competition where I would want to play.
Ajax say they won't let me go, and I'm tied up here until 2014. It would be no punishment to stay, but you never know.”
Anita made his debut with CVV Willemstad in 1996, moving to VV Maarssen next year in 1997 and remaining with them until 1999. He then transferred to Ajax, where he earned promotion to the first team in the 2005-2006 season.
He was a participant for Ajax in the KNVB Cup, which the Dutch outfit went on to win that year. He has already made 103 appearances in the League for the Eredivisie side and has five goals to his name.
