Steve Bruce reveals Craig Gordon could be out for six months
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce revealed he feared that the Black Cats goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Craig-Gordon-c9476’s injury could keep him out for up to six months. Gordon is reportedly undergoing a special exercise program, which is expected to cure his tendon problem.
However, the treatment is not guaranteed to have a 100% success rate and if it fails then the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 international could be facing surgery. If he is forced to undergo surgery then the 28-year-old will be out until October, about eight months.
The Black Cats manager said he hoped Gordon did not have to undergo the surgery, which would most definitely keep him out for a longer period of time. Losing his number one at this stage in the season will affect eight place Sunderland, who have so far managed
to stay at the top half of the table.
Bruce said while speaking to reporters, “The inflammation he's got around the knee isn't great so if this exercise programme he's on doesn't work they'll have to go into it. We're hoping to avoid an operation because that could see Craig out for a month
or, if it is severe, up to six months.”
Steve Bruce keen to keep Bolo Zenden
Sunderland are apparently ready to offer 34-year-old Bolo Zenden a new deal, which will most likely see the midfielder finish his career at the Stadium of Light Zenden will be out of contract during the summer and Sunderland boss Steve Bruce revealed he
was determined to keep the Dutchman.
The Sunderland boss said he felt the experienced midfielder still had a lot to offer, he said while speaking to reporters, “He's still got a lot to offer this club. He's a great asset for the club and we'd like to hang on to him for longer, which is why
we're looking at a new contract for him.”
Zenden has previously played for top sides like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and while he has mostly made appearances as a substitute this season for the Black Cats, Steve Bruce feels the player is essential for the club. Zenden himself is yet to confirm his plans
for the future.
The former Dutch international revealed he would be interested in an extended stay at the Stadium of Light if he was guaranteed first team football. Zenden has made 21 appearances this season for Sunderland, but despite his consistent performance has not
been able to secure a first team place.
Ahmed Elmohamady to get permanent deal
Sunderland confirmed they have decided to sign Egyptian midfielder Ahmed Elmohamady on a permanent deal at the end of the season. The 22-year-old arrived at the Stadium of Light on a loan deal last season and managed to impress manager Steve Bruce during
that time, which has earned him a permanent contract.

Steve Bruce said, “Ahmed has been a pleasure to have around the place since he joined us. He's a great
