Chelsea will travel to the stadium of light this weekend to face Sunderland in the Premier League. The Blues are without a win in their last 6 games, and have truly had a very horrible November.
The Blues have suffered two defeats since the 2-3 defeat against Manchester United and drew the rest of their games. In the midst of all this, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo and appointed Rafael Benitez as head coach.
They finally put in a good performance, winning last night’s Champions League game against Nordsjaelland in an emphatic 6-1 score line. However, the victory means little as the Blues became the first defending champions to go out of the competition in the
group stages.
Chelsea will however take positives from the game, especially the fact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 finally managed to score for them. The team played some good football, and will go into the game against Sunderland full of confidence.
Sunderland have only 1 win to their name in the last 6 games, and are currently in 17th position, with just a point adrift from the relegation zone. The weekend’s game against the Blues will be a tough test for the out of form team.
Sunderland
Expected starting line –up:
Simon Mignolet, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-McClean-c17703, Steven Fletcher, Stephane Sessegnon.
Sunderland are expected to field out the same team that lost to Norwich 2-1 at Carrow Road. The Black Cats have not managed to kick start their season properly, and are only a point adrift from the relegation zone.
Mignolet starts in goal, having been in good form recently. The back four remains the same, and so does the midfield. Larsson starts on the wing along with former City player Adam Johnson. Craig Gardner and James McClean start in the centre, with Sessegnon
playing off striker Steven Fletcher, who is currently the top scorer for the club.
Sunderland will have to put up a good performance if they wish to take anything away from the game. If they are able to prevent the Blues from playing their attacking football, the Black Cats might just salvage something from the game.
Chelsea
Expected starting line-up:
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Victor-Moses-c36075, Fernando Torres.
The Blues will field out the team that thrashed Nordsjaelland 6-1 last night. The back four remains the same with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 is also out of the side, and Juan Mata will replace him in the central attacking midfield role.
Victor Moses starts in place of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oscar-c28720 on the right wing along with Eden Hazard, who had a great game last night. John Obi Mikel makes his way back into the team in place of Romeu.
Torres starts in the sole attacking role, and the Spaniard will be looking to continue last night’s impressive form where he managed a brace. The player has been seriously short of confidence, but finally looked like his former self as he ran rampart in
last night’s game.
If Chelsea can continue to play like this, they will be able to pick up their form and recover from this slump.
Final score: 1-3
Chelsea are far too strong on paper, and I expect them to secure an easy win against Sunderland. I predict Torres, Hazard and Moses to get the goals for the visitors.
