Sunderland youngster Jack Colback praises Martin O’Neill

Sunderland midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Colback-c17451 revealed he felt the new manager Martin O’Neill had done well at the Stadium of Light in his first few games in charge.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been given a lot more opportunity under Martin O’Neill as compared to previous manager Steve Bruce. Colback was brought off the bench to score the equaliser for his side against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 over the weekend.
The shot that ended in the back of the net was after a series of terrific performances by the youngster, which has recently been seen under O’Neill. Colback was certain he had, like the rest of the squad, improved under the Northern Irish manager.
Colback said in an interview:
“We've showed good signs in the last three or four games that we can push on as a club. We've got the players and the manager here to do that.
Hopefully we can go into the game against Man City (on Sunday) and get something out of it, then look to Wigan (January 3rd) and hopefully win there as well to move up the table.”
The Black Cat’s face league leaders Manchester City this Sunday and Colback was hopeful they would manage a positive result against the top side. After the toughest challenge this season, they take on lowly side Wigan Athletic, which will be easy points
for Sunderland.
Colback was hopeful his side would make the most of the opportunity and climb up the table after their upcoming two fixtures. While he admitted he was sad at Bruce’s departure, he was somewhat sure it had helped the team recover from their poor form.
He revealed:
“It was unfortunate that Steve went, no one wants to see a manager leave, but it did kind of take that relief off (the fans) and maybe that's good for the players.”
The midfielder has made 17 appearances this season and has scored one goal so far, he revealed he was looking to score more goals in the upcoming fixtures. He was certain he would be able to do that under the management of Martin O’Neill.
Colback continued:
“I want to score more goals and help the team that way.”
