Just saw something on hockeybuzz and it got me thinking.

If your team was going to sign Sundin OR Hossa, which player would give your favorite team the best chance to win the Stanley Cup for the '08-'09 season

  1. Lordy I don't know.

Thanks for asking but hmm hockey well it's more fun to play it than watch it isn't it?

    again thanks for asking :P

    Do you play hockey?

L's brain doing the happy dance got ~~mt.dew whew!~~

  2. Sundin, proven leader, just hasn't had any team mates.

Hossa is an under achiever that has been surrounded by talent and is just OK.

  3. Sundin. Not only because I'm a leafs fan and Sundin is my favorite player but because Sundin is a great leader with so much skill. He is a veteran so therefore has more experience. He is a very strong and big center. He is also great role model. Hossa is a great player but i would pick Sundin!

  4. Hossaaaa! Because im a huge Pens fan and i think he and Crosby have great chemistry the way theyre playing together right now.

  5. Hossa would be the clear choice for SJ.

We are center deep here with JT, Marleau, and Pavelski and could use scoring winger more than anything.  Hossa would fit just fine next to any of the 3 centers, tho a Marleau-JT-Hossa combo would be just ridiculous.

  6. Sundin, hes a great player and i like the leafs

  7. I am going to say both.

Sundin is older and is a veteran player with leadership.

Hossa has helped our team out so much in the playoffs,

he scored a lot of goals when needed.

  8. HOOOOOOOOOOOSSA!

F***, I can't stand losing Hoss to free agency. I've been trying not to think about it. It hurts.

Yes, I've become attached to Hossa. I was going to get a Hossa jersey in September now I have to choose someone else.

  9. Hossa, I'm a pens fan (from Pittsburgh) and he gave us a big chance. The red wings were just all over the place though...

    =/

  10. Sundin. he would mesh well with all the Swedes we have on the Wings already

  11. Sundin would be my choice because of his experience and leadership skills. Sure he is getting older, but he can still be clutch for a team for the next few years before slowing down. He scores timely goals and is a great playmaker. Just check out his stats.

  12. Hossa! he has great skill and playmaking abilities. just look what he did for the pens

  13. id rather have Hossa personally....Hossa has the speed and is an excellent 2 way player...Hossa can score goals, dangerous on the power play and dangerous on the PK

Sundin is still a very good player but hes far from what he was a couple seasons ago

the way i see it Sundin edges Hossa only in leadership but there is always cheap leadership available in free agency or at the deadline....and if a team has a chance at the cup they already have a suitable captain

  14. Sundin because I'm a Leafs fan and he's one of my favourite players. Plus Sundin is a clutch performer who plays even better in the post season.

  15. I would say it depends on the team for what you need. For the most part tho i would say Sundin. He is a leader and can get it done.

Now maybe Hossa for teams like  the Stars and the Sharks and the Ducks. teams that already have veteran players and leaders. but for pretty much every other team i would say Sundin!!!

  16. Sundin, the habs are already trying to signing him so I don't really care about Hossa right now. He's a great player (and center), playing very well even if he is 37 and with the leafs. Also the Habs want the cup this year for the team's century and if Sundin wanna win the cup he's better to leave the leafs... So Mats have to take the rigth decision and to sign with the habs! If he do it montreal will have the best team since a long time and great chances to win the cup

  17. Sundin because of his experience and veteran leadership.

  18. hossa cause his younger than sundin and theyre kind off the same type of players

  19. Agreed, coming from a Flyers fan who hates the Leafs...I'd much rather have Sundin on my team.  Hossa is a good player, but Sundin is a leader.  He gained all my respect after the 2004 Eastern Conference Semis between the Flyers and Leafs.  Guy poured his heart and soul into it and almost willed them into forcing a game 7.
