Sung-Hee Han defeats wildcard Hee Jin Oh in qualifying 1st round – Hansol Korea Open 2011
Unseeded Sung-Hee Han defeated wildcard entrant Hee Jin Oh in the qualifying first round of the Hansol Korea Open on the hard courts of Olympic Tennis Courts in Seoul, South Korea on the 17th of September 2011. After
56 minutes of play Han won in straight sets with a bread stick and a bagel victory (6-1, 6-0).
As Oh won the toss, she opted to serve and successfully put herself on the scoreboard followed closely by Han. The two players held serve in the first two games but in the third Han took a notch higher in her game and was first
to break Oh in the third game.
As Han held her service game in the fourth game she was able to take a lead of 3-1. Wanting to secure her lead, she put Oh under pressure and Oh’s routine forehand went wayward in the fifth game, giving Han an easy game.
During the sixth game Han holds her game by smashing a winner down the line and secures a lead of 5-1. Trying to break Oh during the last game, the two players battle a deuce but by smashing a raking backhand down the line which
Oh failed to control, Han won the opening set.
Although, Han did not smash an ace, she achieved a near perfect victory in the first with a difference of 11 total points won in the set.
This time opening the second set was Han with great confidence, who not only held her serve in the first game but also went on to break her opponent in the second.
The third and the fourth game were a replica of the first two games; as she held her serve in the third by smashing an ace at game point before going one to break Oh in the fourth game to take a comfortable 4-0 lead.
By the fifth game, Hans score was also 5-0, she not only won on her serve but dominated all of her opponent’s service game as well.
Amidst the sixth game Oh’s forehand missed the court and she seemed extremely outraged as she had endorsed the match point to Han.
At the end, Han stood victorious by smashing two aces and capitalizing on all her break points.
