The pairing of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sanjay-c88566 Manjrekar and Rameez Raja can sometimes come off as irritating whereas Raja’s overflowing hair might distract the viewer.
Sunil Gavaskar
As a former legendary Indian batsman, his stint at the commentary box has held no doubt in the minds of cricket enthusiasts. His popularity has risen due to his sometimes controversial comments but he insists on speaking from the heart and not the mind. He praises a good performance and never shies away from criticizing the other way around. He always speaks in an authoritative tone adding in his own experiences with some light heartedness. He is sugar and spice and everything nice. A cute little midget commentator for the world of cricket.
Trevor Bailey
He was amongst the best English broadcasters, named as the “Boil” by his fellow commentator, Brian Johnston on the BBC Test Match Special. People have grown up listening to his humorous insights on the radio as well as the television. Even at the age of 87, his cricket intelligence was never questioned, while always highlighted the strengths and the weaknesses of the players.
Navjot Sidhu
He is one of the most obnoxious yet most popular faces on television today, provoking many jokes that surrounded him. His wise one-liners, known as “sidhuisms” in every sentence made some people angry as did his other one liners that were always delivered at any given opportunity he saw. He was a tad bit cocky as can be seen by his comment about a six once, “The ball has gone high and handsome in the air to meet the airhostess.” His face resembles that of a potato. He is often accused of not letting his fellow commentators talk; well he might not be everyone’s cup of tea but he gave something new behind the glass.
Tony Greig
The former English cricketer has been in this business for the longest time and even though he had his controversies, he is much loved by the viewers. His enthusiasm is infectious and his experienced insights are always valuable.

The illustrious former English captain is today the most popular commentator to grace the commentator box. His career behind the glass is as entertaining as his cricketing career. He is sure a fighter, through being the most famous commentator to getting sacked after a court conviction and making a comeback from a throat cancer. His pinching sarcastic style of commenting is amusing to hear, especially when he includes the insights of his “mum.” (Yes he is indeed referring to his mum.) He never shies away from declaring his love for “Dada”- Sourav Ganguly, in every match and his analogies are much appreciated by the viewers.
Michael Slater
The Australian batsman had a downfall in his promising career due to personal marital problems but he is on his way to became amongst the most entertaining commentator. It is debated that he is ordinary with the microphone, calling the strokes that are caught “great shot.” He continuously makes mistakes, and has a habit of talking even when he really should be keeping his mouth shut. But at least his Pink suits make the viewers see the match. With experience he can go a long way.
Harsha Bhogle
The Indian is an immensely famous cricket commentator as well as a respected sports journalist and presenter. He is the youngest commentator- he was 18 when he started off. He analyzes the game and the players and his solid knowledge about cricket shows that he is passionate about the sport. His voice modulation and the sound manner of speaking make him stand out. He is like that annoying wart on the face of a chubby computer geek that never goes away. It stands out and you have to put up with it.
