Sunil Gavaskar pays tribute to Tiger Pataudi’s sense of wit – Cricket News Update
The former Indian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mansur-Ali-Khan-c1894 Pataudi, revealing that the legend had a deep sense of humour and he used to entertain his fellow players.
Pataudi died at the age of 70, on September 22, 2011, setting a wave of shock and disappointment across India.
Gavaskar, who is extremely aggrieved over the demise of the legendry player, disclosed that Mansur’s dressing room character was totally different from, what he used to demonstrate on the field as he was a good chatter and joker.
Talking to the media today, the ex-leader said, “Normally he was a quiet person. So one could not make out what he was thinking. But when started to speak, it would either be something very funny or serious. His spoke in a very clipped manner but the message
used to be delivered."
He further told, “Through out my career, I never understood how to address him.”
The cricketer turned commentator has also expressed grave regret over the Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s (BCCI) denial to the professional services of the deceased.  He opines that the Indian cricket pundits should have utilised Pataudi’s post-cricket
career for the betterment of the national as well as domestic teams.
“May be BCCI made use of him sporadically. But whenever we spoke to him, he always had observations about opposition or Indian players,” stated Gavaskar.

He also played 310 First-Class matches in his domestic career. Despite being deprived of one eye, he performed his best and accomplished many glaring

Sunny, who played 125 Test and 108 ODI games for the Men in Blue, is of the view that Nawab’s death is an irreparable loss for the Indian cricket and no one will be able to fill his boots for generations.
Apart from him, many other former and current Indian cricketers have shown respect and paid tribute to Pataudi.
