Sunil Joshi bids farewell to international and first-class cricket - Cricket News Update
India’s leg-spin bowler from Karnataka, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sunil-Joshi-c91853, on Thursday formally announced retirement from all cricket, international plus domestic, bringing an end to his 20-year-long cricketing career spanning from 1992 to 2012.

The leggie started his first-class career back in 1992 and had not played a domestic match since January 2011. He was the coach of state side http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792, in the 2011 domestic season of India.
Joshi, a passionate cricketer, who used to travel 40 miles every morning for practice, made his Test debut for India in June 1996, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 at Birmingham, and went on to play 15 Test matches claiming 41 wickets at an average of 35.85. His last Test
appearance had come in November 2000 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, when he claimed eight wickets and scored 92 runs as well, bagging the Man of the Match award.
The left-arm spinner also debuted in the One Day International format of the game in 1996 , against Zimbabwe, and played his last one-dayer against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, at Pune, on March 28, 2001. The ODI career spanning almost five years, saw the Karnataka cricketer
playing 69 matches for the Men in Blue, and claiming as many wickets (69). His best ODI performance had come against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in 1999, when he claimed figures of five for six in a spell of 10 overs, which also included six maiden overs.
On the domestic circuit, Joshi was a leg-spin stalwart, grabbing 615 first-class wickets from 160 matches. He was also a handy batsman, as he compiled a tally of 5129 first-class runs at an average of 26.71, including four hundreds and 26 fifties.
