Sunil Narine did not enjoy bowling in England – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sunil-Philip-Narine-c91869, the West Indian off-spinner, has expressed that he feels more comfortable playing in home conditions, with the weather and pitches more conducive for spin bowling as compared to England, where his team failed to win a single international game
on the recent tour.
The 24-year-old made his way to international cricket last year, when he debuted against India. Since then, the mystery spinner has been a regular member of the West Indian limited-overs squad.
However, Narine came to the limelight during this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) and emerged as one of the world’s premier bowlers in the shorter formats. Considering his extra-ordinary performances in the cash-rich league, the spinner was handed over
the Test cap in England but he failed to make an impression.
The cricketer from Trinidad & Tobago came back to his own in the recently concluded T20 series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in Florida and was named as the Player of the Match in the second fixture because of his four-wicket haul.
The wily bowler expressed that pitches and weather in England are not ideal for spinners, as warm fingers are crucial in turning the ball. Narine also thinks that his team is favourite to beat the Black Caps in the upcoming ODI series because the Caribbean
men always play well at home.
"It's good to be back home," Narine said after the match. "England wickets don't really spin a lot and it was a bit cold. Down here is back to normal to where the wickets suited me a lot. Playing England [in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013] is very challenging. We know that we
are a strong team at home.”
While talking about his experience with Kolkata Knight Riders, Narine expressed that he has learnt a lot by playing competitive cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and further added that playing alongside many world-class players helped him enhance his skills.
"I think the amount of cricket you play game by game [in the IPL], you get experience and by playing among the world's best and just being able to perform with the best it just gives you the confidence and courage that anything's possible on the cricket
field," the off-spinner added.
