Kelvin http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Williams-c98034, the former first-class cricketer and coach of Trinidad & Tobago, is delighted with the progress of off-spinner, Sunil Narine, and is confident that the 24-year-old has a bright future ahead of him in international cricket.
Narine made his international debut in 2011 in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and straight-away impressed cricket analysts with his accuracy and the ability to spin the ball both ways. The mystery spinner has cemented his place in West Indies’ limited-overs squad but is yet to play
his first Test match.
The youngster has been impressive at the highest stage of the game but he found real glory in the fifth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and stamped his authority on all the batsmen in the tournament. Narine played a massive role in Kolkata Knight
Riders’ success in the tournament and proved to be the difference between his franchise and the other teams, picking up 24 scalps this season.
However, some of the former cricketers believe that international batsmen will start to play Narine better as the time progresses, because his variations will not go unresearched. The same was the case with Sri Lanka’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BAW-Mendis-c1127, who failed to perform
consistently in international cricket after an impressive start.
Narine’s coach agrees that the spinner will need to develop his game in the years to come but Williams is confident that the mystery spinner will have a great career.
"He has got to develop variations. In international cricket batsmen will work you out so you can fade away if you don't do that and that is what happened to Mendis. Narine is too smart for that to happen to him, though, but the first two years of his career
will be a dream start," Williams expressed.
The coach further revealed that Narine has been extremely professional since his early days.
He added, "It's nice to see him doing so well. He is one who has been dedicated towards the development of his cricket. He always had my utmost respect because he was so determined to get to the top. He works extremely hard."
